DC Caribbean Bar Association Hosts Inaugural Caribbean Heritage Month Reception at Milbank LLP
On June 11, 2026, the DC Caribbean Bar Association welcomed members and guests to its inaugural Caribbean Heritage Month Reception hosted by Milbank LLP in Washington, DC.
The reception brought together members of the Caribbean legal community and its supporters for an evening of networking, celebration, and recognition of the contributions Caribbean Americans make to the legal profession and public life.
The Association was honored to welcome and hear remarks from At-Large Councilmember Robert White. Guests also heard welcome remarks from Doreen Thompson, DC Caribbean Bar Association advisory board member and longtime advocate whose leadership helped establish and advance Caribbean Heritage Month. Keynote remarks were delivered by Wilhelm H. Joseph, Jr., civil rights advocate, and former Executive Director of Maryland Legal Aid whose career has been dedicated to expanding access to justice and equal opportunity.
The reception was further distinguished by the attendance of Judge Tanya Jones Bosier; His Excellency Tarlie Francis, Ambassador of Grenada to the United States; Natalee Snider, Director of the Mayor's Office on Caribbean Affairs; and Dr. Goulda Downer, President of the Caribbean American Political Action Committee (C-PAC).
The DC Caribbean Bar Association extends its sincere gratitude to Patrick Campbell and Milbank LLP for generously hosting the reception and helping create a welcoming space for the Caribbean legal community to gather and celebrate Caribbean Heritage Month. We also extend gratitude to Terrica Jennings of Terrica Jennings & Associates PLLC for her assistance in organizing the reception and helping facilitate the partnership that made this event possible.
As the Association continues to grow, events like the Caribbean Heritage Month Reception strengthen connections across the Caribbean legal community and create opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and fellowship. The DC Caribbean Bar Association looks forward to building on the success of this year's celebration and continuing to uplift Caribbean attorneys, law students, judges, and public servants throughout the Washington metropolitan area.
